Create in me a clean heart .... - Psalms 51:10

As I sit in bed trying to get my work done for discussion tomorrow with my counterpart in HK, I find my mind wandering. I logged on to Facebook, chatted briefly with a dear friend and felt the urge to share with him a section from JK Rowling's commencement speech which I thought was relevant for him.

After that brief chat, I was somehow reminded of a colleague and a fellow brother in Christ who shared with me Psalms 51 which he meditated on as he fasted during this season of Lent till good Friday.

"10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me." Psalms 51:10-12

I remember singing a song whose lyrics were based on this Psalms back when I was still in Youth Fellowship and it truly reminded me of how I used to yearn for God to "cleanse" my heart. It's 2 weeks before Good Friday, my prayer is that in all that I do and in all the "test" I faced be it "internal" or "external", may God create in me a clean heart that I may deal with challenges in life and yearn for Him the way I used to.
